My day job is reporting on technology. My work appears in Wired, The Guardian, The Economist and The New York Times, and I have written three books. I also teach journalism at Newcastle University.
The skills that go into a news feature are the ones a wedding newspaper needs. An interview has to put people at ease and still find the detail nobody has heard before. A headline has to make a room full of guests pick the paper up. Names, dates and places have to be right, because a mistake printed 100 times is hard to forget.
How I work
- I write from the interview and never from a template, so no two papers share a story.
- I do not use your story, your photographs or your paper in my marketing unless you say yes.
- I check every name and date with you before anything goes to press.
- I order and inspect a printed test copy before the full run.
- I take a limited number of weddings each month so that each one gets proper time.

Where I am
I'm based in the North East of England. Interviews are held by video call, so couples anywhere in the UK can book. Papers are printed in the UK and delivered nationwide.
